Medical Terminology Training
Description
Please Carefully Read this Information.
According to the U.S. Department of Labor Statistics, health information technicians are one of the ten fastest growing allied health occupations. These are challenging, interesting careers that are compensated according to the level of training and skills, and how effectively these skills are used. Such people are employed by hospitals, clinics, doctor offices, health maintenance organizations (HMOs), mental healthcare facilities, insurance companies and government agencies; some work from home as independent consultants using medical billing and coding programs and other computer software.
Our Medical Terminology Home Training Program is designed for those who require a solid medical terminology background for health-related careers. It is the prerequisite program for our Coding Course, and a useful adjunct to the Health Insurance Specialist Program.
The program is a self-paced, interactive, learn-at-home process that has been designed by experts with over 35 years of experience in the MT field. It is a doorway to employment in the medical field and a precursor to our billing, coding and transcription course.
Plan to complete the approximate 240 hours of study in 3 months or less, dependent on your schedule. If no final is taken, your grade will be posted as a “fail.” Extensions are granted past the 3 month period for a fee.
Shortly after enrollment you will begin receiving regular email notifications regarding your study progress. It is your responsibility to respond to our emails and work to finish within the time period allotted. Failure to respond to these notices could result in significant delays, grade reporting issues and failure in the class. Your goal is to complete the course and pass your final exam.
A student’s comments:
I loved the Medical Terminology Course and really enjoyed the Sections 1 & 2. I found both to be extremely “user-friendly.” The “learning module” concept is great; I think personally, it helps with long-term retention of the material. In addition, the lessons were interactive, which is perfect with my type of “learning style”…..I was able to read the material and then put it to practical use by writing down the information in an organized manner. The support was really great. I have 2 interviews next week.” T. Jones
