In this course, you will learn about how plans for information systems can be implemented and once they are implemented, how they should be managed.
Considering how systems may be implemented leads us to consider what methods can be used, whilst determining how they should be managed requires us to consider what control needs to be applied to the implemented system to ensure its continuing success.
After completing this course, you should be able to:
•Explain the concept of a systems development life cycle (SDLC)
•Critically assess the relationship between the traditional SDLC and other approaches to systems development
•Identify the role of prototyping in systems development
•Assess the benefits of using object-orientation in systems development
•compare alternatives for acquiring new systems
•Identify the main requirements for secure systems.
